This gold ring dates from the fifteenth century and was found at Raglan castle.

Wearing accessories completed the outfit in this period. Jewellery such as brooches, bracelets and rings adorned with stones, sometimes of gold or silver, were worn by men and women. It was a way to display the social status of the individual.

A purse was a necessary accessory for a travelling poet and Guto’r Glyn composed two poems to thank his patrons for purses he received as gifts: poem 58 and poem 87.
